Down with the Sickness

Where is spring? I need to be able to open our windows and clear out the sicknesses. It has been a horribly ill winter that started well before Christmas. And I am sick of being told during numerous doctor visits that it is 'just a virus'.

Saturday landed poor Joe in the Emergency Room at one of our local hospitals. He was running a high temp, not eating or drinking, sleeping a ton, not walking, but crawling, and complaining of stomach pain. When it got harder to wake him up we decided it was time to bring him in and get him checked over. And did I mention he had just finished up a round of antibiotics 2 days before this episode.

They did a urine culture, blood draw, and chest x-ray. All came back in the normal range. Some numbers were skewed, but just pointed to some inconclusive infection his body is fighting. Brought him home and Sunday was a lot of the same.

Fever is now down and energy level is starting to come up. Not a lot of an appetite and still pretty clingy and whiney (which I am a HUGE fan of.... not). Still worried that something is going on - especially with his breath smelling so funky, but I will give it some time to work out of his system.

Ryan and T have great coughs, as does the husband. I have wrapped myself in bubble wrap to deter the germs - no time for the Momma to get sick.

Hope this finds you all healthy.
